What is RULIXY?
RULIXY is a free online random wheel that runs in a modern web browser. Add names, teams, challenges or other options and select a random result. The same tool can be used for giveaways, name picking, streaming activities, gaming challenges, Battle Royale eliminations or everyday decisions.
RULIXY was designed with streamers and gamers as a priority while keeping the core interface simple for everyone. A casual user can stay with the SPIN button, while a creator can add an Overlay, 16:9 or 9:16 layouts, remote control and hotkeys.
🎁 Giveaways
Add entrants, define your rules and run one or multiple draws. Enable automatic removal when winners must be unique.
🎮 Gaming & streams
Use challenges, teams, Battle Royale, Hype Mode, OBS/TikTok overlays and Stream Deck remote actions.
📚 Classroom activities
Pick names, turns or activities quickly from a computer, tablet or phone.
🎯 Decisions
Turn any list into a wheel: food, tasks, participation order, teams or alternatives.
Who is RULIXY for?
- Streamers and creators: live giveaways, challenges, Battle Royale, OBS/TikTok scenes and quick controls during a stream.
- Gamers: weapons, maps, challenges, squads and community activities.
- Teachers and students: random names, turn order, participation and classroom activities.
- Communities, teams and groups: turn selection and quick group decisions.
- Casual users: any situation where you want to pick one option from a list without installing an app.
Getting started with RULIXY
What the main screen shows
The main screen keeps essential information visible without opening menus: title, subtitle, participant count, round, current mode, stage, wheel, result and the SPIN button.
- Participants: number of active entries.
- Round: useful for a sequence of spins or eliminations.
- Mode: Normal or Battle Royale.
- Stage: Battle Royale stages such as TOP 3, FINAL or champion.
- Result: the selected entry after a spin.
On desktop, a SHOW/HIDE OVERLAY control sits next to SPIN and is also mapped to H. On mobile, the main screen stays simpler and this control moves to Settings → Stream.
RULIXY on desktop and mobile
The same wheel works on both layouts, but the interface gives priority to different tasks depending on the available screen space. On desktop, where OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio and Stream Deck workflows are more common, the quick Show/Hide Overlay button remains beside SPIN and the Settings panel uses a wider layout. On mobile and tablet, the main screen stays focused on the wheel and SPIN; the Overlay control is still available under Settings → Stream for users who actually need it.
This does not create separate desktop and mobile versions of RULIXY. Lists, modes, results, presets and settings remain part of the same product. Only the placement of a few controls changes so each screen stays readable and easy to use.
Settings panel features
The panel is split into six tabs so you can use only the tools you need.
⚙️ General
Edit the title and subtitle, choose Normal or Battle Royale mode, undo the latest action and reset the round counter. You can also toggle result confirmation, automatic removal, confetti, sound, Hype Mode and automatic Overlay hiding while idle.
👥 Participants
RULIXY supports up to 500 entries. Long names may be shortened visually on the wheel to preserve readability.
- One entry per line.
- Shuffle.
- Remove duplicates.
- Import TXT/CSV.
- Clear the list.
- Save reusable list presets.
- View, copy or clear History.
Built-in templates include streamer giveaway, Battle Royale, Warzone Challenge, gaming challenges, teams and quick decisions, plus general-use templates for names, general giveaways, classroom participation, turn order, food and random options.
🎥 Stream
Choose an Overlay layout for your scene:
🖥️ 16:9
1920×1080 for horizontal scenes.
📱 9:16
1080×1920 for vertical scenes such as TikTok LIVE Studio.
⬜ 1:1
1080×1080 for square compositions.
🎯 Wheel Only
A wheel-focused view when you already have your own stream frame.
Overlay backgrounds can be transparent, green chroma, blue chroma or black. You can test the Overlay, copy the OBS or TikTok URL and regenerate the session link.
The Stream tab also includes optional Stream Deck / Remote Control. It creates a private token and URLs for SPIN, SHOW, HIDE and TOGGLE actions using an HTTP/Web Request action. RULIXY must remain open for remote actions to control the wheel. Keep the token and URLs private.
🎨 Appearance
Switch between Gold, Cyber, Purple and Fire themes. You can also use a custom center logo and restore the original RULIXY logo later.
🔊 Audio
Adjust volume and add custom sounds for Winner, Elimination and Champion. Each custom audio file can be up to 3 MB and multimedia is stored in IndexedDB.
🧰 Advanced
- Export wheel: create a JSON backup of your setup.
- Import wheel: restore a compatible backup.
- Local storage: shows where logo and sounds are stored.
- Report a problem / suggest a feature: send feedback to support. Technical diagnostics are optional and do not include full participant lists, logo or audio files.
- Reset application: remove local settings and return RULIXY to its initial state.
Normal mode, Battle Royale and Hype Mode
🟢 Normal mode
Best for giveaways, names, decisions and general activities. Each spin selects one entry. If the list stays unchanged, the same entry can appear again; enable automatic removal when results must be unique.
🔴 Battle Royale
The selected entry is eliminated and the process continues until one champion remains. RULIXY adds TOP 3, FINAL and champion stages. Explain this rule before a live event because being selected means elimination, not winning.
See the Battle Royale stream guide for a recommended flow.
🔥 Hype Mode
Hype Mode changes presentation, suspense and the final impact. It does not change which entry is selected.
How RULIXY chooses a result
Selection uses the browser's secure Web Crypto generator. The result is determined before the animation finishes, and the wheel then moves to represent that result. Device speed or the visual stopping moment does not choose the winner.
Random selection can naturally repeat an entry if it remains in the list. For a deeper explanation, see How RULIXY fair randomness works.
Overlay, OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio and Stream Deck
The Overlay is an independent web view designed to be embedded as a streaming source. The control page and Overlay synchronize through a temporary encrypted session; the relay server receives encrypted packets rather than needing the participant list in plain text for synchronization.
- OBS: typically use a Browser Source and 16:9, although other presets are available.
- TikTok LIVE Studio: when a Link/Web source is available, 9:16 is recommended for vertical scenes.
- Status: RULIXY shows waiting, connected or error states.
- Regenerate link: creates a new session; copy the new URL into your streaming software.
- Show/Hide: desktop users can use the quick button or H; mobile users find the control under Settings → Stream.
- Spin while hidden: RULIXY automatically shows the Overlay before starting the spin.
Stream Deck is optional and is intended for creators who want quick controls without searching for buttons during a live stream.
Keyboard shortcuts
SPACE
Spin.
ENTER
Confirm result.
R
Repeat.
CTRL + Z
Undo.
F
Fullscreen.
H
Show or hide Overlay.
Hotkeys automatically pause while you are typing in a text field, so entering a letter such as “H” in the participant list should not trigger the Overlay command.
Data, privacy, backups and reports
RULIXY is local-first for normal use: main lists and settings are stored in the browser and no account is required. Custom logo and sound files use IndexedDB.
The remote Overlay uses a temporary encrypted synchronization session. The Overlay itself does not load Analytics or the cookie banner. On the main application, consent-dependent measurement follows the available privacy choices.
For important setups, use Advanced → Export wheel and keep the JSON file. This gives you a restorable backup if you change browsers or clear local data.
Recommended ways to use RULIXY
- Casual or classroom use: start with Participants and SPIN. Add advanced features only when needed.
- Giveaways: announce the rules first and enable automatic removal for unique winners.
- Streaming: prepare the Overlay before going live and confirm the connection status.
- Battle Royale: test the participant list and elimination rule before presenting it to viewers.
- Reusable lists: save presets.
- Important setups: export a JSON backup before major changes.
