How to run a giveaway with an online wheel

A trustworthy giveaway starts before the spin: a clean entrant list, clear rules and a visible way to select the result. This workflow keeps the draw simple and understandable.

  • Prepare a clean entrant list.
  • Choose whether winners may repeat.
  • Confirm or repeat a result transparently.
  • Show the wheel in a live stream.

1. Set the rules before the first spin

Decide who can enter, whether one person may have multiple entries and whether you need one winner or several. Publish those rules before the draw.

2. Prepare the entrant list

Paste one entry per line. Rulixy also supports TXT and CSV imports.
Check duplicates. Remove them only when your giveaway rules allow one entry per person.
Save a preset. Reusable lists can be stored locally in the browser.

3. Decide how repeat winners work

Independent random spins can select the same person again. If your rules require unique winners, enable Remove winner/eliminated entry after each spin before the draw starts.

Tip: when multiple prizes must go to different people, enable automatic removal before the first spin and keep the list unchanged during the draw.

4. Spin and confirm

Rulixy can pause on the selected result before applying it. That is useful on stream because the animation and the recorded result become separate moments. Only repeat a draw for a reason already covered by your published rules.

5. Show the giveaway on stream

The OBS overlay supports 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and wheel-only layouts. Keep alerts and chat widgets away from the pointer and final result area so viewers can clearly see what happened.
