Classroom use
Name wheel for the classroom: practical ideas
A name wheel can save time and distribute turns visibly, as long as it is used for neutral activities and avoids unnecessary personal information.
๐ Participation
Pick who answers, reads or starts an activity.
๐ Turn order
Choose who goes next in presentations or games.
๐ฅ Teams
Spin group names, roles or tasks.
๐ฏ Decisions
Use topics and questions instead of student names.
Set up a classroom wheel
Open Rulixy and choose Templates โ General Use โ Classroom participation.
Replace the sample entries with first names, initials or classroom aliases.
Decide whether a student can be selected again. If not, enable automatic removal.
Spin and show the result to the group.
Do not turn randomness into a punishment
The wheel works best for sharing opportunities, turn order and neutral activities. If being selected could embarrass someone or expose sensitive information, use another method.
Classroom privacy
Rulixy stores the main list and settings in the browser. When working with minors, avoid full legal names, IDs, email addresses, grades or other information that the activity does not need.
Alternative: fill the wheel with questions, exercises or review challenges. You keep the suspense without always selecting a person.
