How to run a Battle Royale wheel on stream
Battle Royale turns random selection into an elimination sequence: each spin removes one entry until a champion remains. Rulixy adds TOP 3 and final-stage presentation for live content.
Before going live
- Prepare the final participant list.
- Explain that the selected entry is eliminated.
- Enable Battle Royale mode.
- Test the OBS overlay before the audience arrives.
Recommended flow
Make the rule obvious
Battle Royale is the opposite of a normal giveaway: the selected entry usually leaves the game. Explain that before the first spin and repeat it when new viewers join.
Ideas
🎮 Challenges
Eliminate weapons, maps or challenges until one remains.
👥 Community
Run a symbolic tournament with viewers or server members.
🏆 Prize format
Make the last entrant the winner when that rule was announced in advance.
⚔️ Teams
Use squad names instead of individual players.
Plan the duration before loading entries
Every extra participant adds another elimination. A 64-name Battle Royale can be too long for a short stream segment. Decide how much time the activity should take and adjust the list accordingly. Teams or categories can replace individual names when you need fewer rounds.
Normal and Battle Royale mean different things
In Normal mode, the selected entry is usually treated as the winner or choice. In Battle Royale, the selected entry is normally eliminated. Make that reversal obvious to viewers. Use a clear on-screen title and repeat the rule before the first round, especially for people who join the stream late.
Handling TOP 3 and the final
As the field gets smaller, slow the pacing if you want the last rounds to feel more important. You can enable Hype Mode only at TOP 3 or for the champion reveal. There is no need to manually edit the list: confirm each elimination and let the mode preserve the competition state.
Mistakes to avoid
- Starting without checking accidental duplicates.
- Changing the elimination rule after several rounds.
- Covering the pointer or final result with OBS alerts.
- Regenerating the Overlay mid-event without updating the source.
- Using a test list as if it were the final participant list.
Team-based formats
Instead of loading 30 individual names, spin squads, maps, roles or challenges. The last team standing can determine who gets an advantage, which map is played or what the final challenge will be. The elimination logic stays the same while the content of the segment changes.
After the champion
When the Battle Royale ends, preserve the result before resetting if you need to announce or record it. If another match starts, tell viewers whether the full list returns or the champion sits out. Resetting without a stated rule can make the new round harder to follow.
